A Rod ties the great Ken Griffey Jr.

On Friday April 13th 2012, wow on Friday the 13th Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez tied Ken Griffey Jr. on the all time home run list, hitting his 630th home run that afternoon.  His long ball off of the Angles Ervin Santana places A-Rod in a tie for fifth place overall on the list. A-Rod is 36 years of age and barring any major injury to slow him down he really has a legitimate shot at passing Barry Bonds on the time list and becoming the new home run leader. We have some people who don’t like him and others that do, because he got caught using steroids, I’m a fan of him, if you use steroids that’s on you in my opinion, plus I feel steroids saved baseball anyways which I wrote about last year. The crazy thing about this is we may get lucky enough to see two people break the home run in our lifetime.

Good luck A-Rod keep chugging along!

  1. Its tarnished. People don’t even get hyped for it now. People were seriously excited when Mark McGwire hit 70 and Sosa was on his tails. But scandal broke, they are perceived as cheats. Nobody outside of San Fran really gave 2 shits about Barry hitting 73. Clemens, Barry, Mark are DOA in Cooperstown. A-Rod might change that trend. He is young enough that it the writers might be more forgiving when he is up for vote. And he handled the situation correctly when he got caught. He fessed up to it. As far as I’m concerned, which doesn’t mean shit, the alltime hr leaders are Aaron, Ruth, Mays, Robinson, Griffey. F them other bums.

    1. Yeah it’s tarnished but MLB allowed it show I don’t blame the players as much as I probably would if I knew the MLB higher ups didn’t use these cats to bring the common fan back to baseball. I just wish the baseball gods would have granted a few more clean years of health while in cincy….
