Why Jeremy Lin Should Sit Out Versus the Miami Heat?

There has been speculation about Jeremy Lin returning to the court for game five against the Miami Heat. It is a very high chance that the Knicks will lose game five so it is not like that the Knicks are waiting on Willis Reed to return. Though the Knicks are in need of a point guard due to the recent injury of Baron Davis it would be best for Lin to stay in a business suit rather than returning to the hardwood.

We all remember how Linsanity played during his highly anticipated match up against the Miami Heat prior to the playoffs. The Miami Heat sent the wolves towards Lin and he was exposed. Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole hounded him for 48 minutes and Lin had one his worst games of the season.

In sports the “what have you done for me lately” slogan becomes truer by the day. The lasting images of Jeremy Lin were a good one in the mind of basketball fans and NBA Executives. This is a guy who was a feel good story that had a nice run that helped fuel the Knicks into playoff contention. With Lin being a free agent it will be smart for him to sit out the playoffs and to cash in on a big payday this summer. By Lin sitting he is still looked at as the feel good story of the NBA. If he comes to play, but not in the way that we all remember it can raise question marks about his ability to play and how he returns from injury.

Not playing is the best business move for Linsanity and his camp. Professional sports are ruthless so it is important to cash on a paycheck while you are relevant. Lin may not be worth a big payday, but it ensures his financial security if he is really a one-hit wonder.

  1. Just like you said its a business in the all about what have you done for me lately. He should chill comeback 100% next year because you don’t want that B Roy situation over a series that is all but over .. the knicks just got to let Bibby and Douglas get clock lol.

    1. it’s rumors that Lin is healthy enough to play but is choosing not to for the reason of not being exposed and hurting his contract. Thats lame on Lin. If you’re the truth then get out there and play. i think at this point many people doubt his legitimacy as a star point gaurd anyway. if he could just play in one game and play he could increase his payday because of the stage if he has a bad game the same idiot that was going to cash him out will still pay him. the only reason he shouldn’t play is if was any danger of furthering his injury other than that get out there and try to become apart of one of the greatest combacts in nba history

      1. If he is healthy and not at risk then that is wack for sure.. I agree with that statement if true..
