What is Next For The Boston Celtics and The Big Three?

The Boston Celtics big three teamed up in 2007. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were acquired by trade, and Paul Pierce was the franchise player of the Celtics.

During their tenure together they won a championship, and had several memorable moments on the basketball floor together. The one championship they won solidified the legacies of Paul, Ray, and KG. Before winning the title that was always the topic of discussion when talking about the three players.

With KG and Ray Allen becoming free agents there is a realistic chance that we will not see these three in Celtic Green again for the remainder of their careers.

Money, age, retirement, and trades has been a part of the discussion when talking about them. Will KG retire? Will Boston pay Ray Allen? Will Paul Pierce be traded? Nobody knows the answers to those questions, not even Celtic General Manager Danny Ainge.

For the past five years the Celtics have been a joy to watch due to their skill, passion, unselfishness, and camaraderie as a team. Head Coach Doc Rivers has also grown as a coach during that time period.  Managing the egos of three future hall of famers is not an easy task.

Danny Ainge has a tough job on his hands this summer. There are so many intriguing stories and parts about what could happen in Title Town. Building around Rajon Rondo will be the main focal point, but with who? Personally I think there is some life left in the Big Three, but they will need to add a young big and a wing to run with the young guns in the league.

If it is the end, well lets just say that it was great to see from the perspective of a basketball fan.

We shall see what is next for the Celtics.
