Remembering FlipSanity A.K.A. Ronald “Flip” Murray

flipAround this time last year some were introduced to a NBA player by the name of Jeremy Lin who became an instant success with the New York Knicks. Lin took the basketball world and the “Big Apple” by storm with his feel good story, and great play on the court. Jeremy Lin’s run created a lot of Linsanity across the nation. Many people may not know that there was  player before Jeremy Lin that had a similar run, but didn’t garner the same attention.

That player is Ronald “Flip” Murray.  Back in the 2003-2004 season with the then Seattle SuperSonics Murray had a run of averaging over 21.0 ppg over his first 14 games. Murray didn’t get the attention that Lin received due to playing in a small market. Prior to shining with the Seattle SuperSonics,  Murray was coming off of a bench riding rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks.  The guard out of  Shaw University(Division II) caught many people by surprise, and went on to play in the NBA for a total of eight seasons (Played for the Bucks, Sonics, Cavs, Pacers, Bulls, Pistons, Bobcats, and  Hawks) .  Here is a video of  Flipsanity throughout his career going to work!
