Lamar Odom has been in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons as of late. Whether it deals with drugs, DUI, or his marriage with Khole Kardashian, all about Odom has been negative. Odom has suffered from the Kardashian curse and is trying to shake the hex. The 14 Year NBA veteran inked a deal with a team out of Spain. Odom will suit up for Laboral Kutxa and will play the remainder of the season.
I know the team in Spain isn’t the Los Angeles Lakers, but this is a step in the right direction for Odom to rejuvenate himself as a person and a basketball player. We all know that Odom will not be the point forward that he once was, but he can be a contributor in many ways. If Odom has a good enough stint in Spain I can see a team taking a one year flier on Odom next season.
Leaving the country may be a good thing for Odom. He gets away from most of the negative tabloids, and he is in a new atmosphere. People are afraid of change, but I think change is good for Odom at this point of his basketball career and in his life. I wish Lamar Odom the best, and I hope he finds his way back to the NBA so he can go out on his own terms.
