The power of Twitter is pretty evident in this day and age. A retweet can change your life in a good or bad way. In this case Twitter was put to good use for a very special reason.

The hashtag #LeBronMeetEbony became very popular, and it was a great message behind it. Ebony Nettles-Bey, who is a high school girls basketball player in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area is a huge fan of LeBron James, and wanted to meet him some day. Ebony is currently in a fight with Cancer, and was diagnosed with stage-four Rhabdomyosarcoma Cancer. Despite her diagnosis Ebony continued her high school basketball career, and played through chemotherapy, and several treatments.

Prior to being diagnosed with Cancer, Ebony was an All-League player that committed to play at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Due to LeBron’s busy schedule, and Ebony’s health LeBron had to wait until the Heat came to Milwaukee to play the Bucks. Ebony finally met her favorite NBA player, on March 29th, and I’m guessing it was one of the best moments in her life.

It’s great to see an athlete of LeBron James’s stature make someone’s dream come true in such a trying time. Ebony had a few moments to be a joyful kid when meeting James instead of worrying about her bout with Cancer. LeBron James autographed a pair of shoes for Ebony, as well as letting her warm up with him prior to the game.

March 28th, 2014 may have just been a regular day to some, but for Ebony Nettles-Bey it was a day when one of her dreams came true in meeting LeBron James.

I would like to pray and hope for the best for Ebony and her family. #CancerSucks and #LeBronmetEbony. S/O to King James for this amazing gesture.
