NBA Finals: Miami Heat’s X-Factor!

mario chalmerThis week we are going to highlight X-Factor’s for both NBA Finals teams (Heat and Spurs). Today we are shining the light on the Heat.

Since the Heat has been in the spotlight the last four years, nobody really views their team as a team with any X-Factor’s. Everyone knows James, Wade and Bosh, but the person who will make life easier if he plays good is point guard Mario Chalmers.

Chalmers has seen his play decline in each playoff series. He went from 9.0 to 5.7 points per game from the Conference Semifinals to the Conference Finals. Chalmers has went from 9.8 ppg and 4.9 apg during the regular season to 7.1 ppg and 3.9 apg during the playoffs.

Chalmers has never been counted on to carry the full load, but he makes timely threes. Chalmers can also get to the bucket better than people think, he’s no Chris Paul, but he can make plays from time to time. During this series he will have to keep the Spurs defense honest so a consistent 10-15 points would be expected of him if the road to a three peat is in the Heat’s cards.

I know Cole, Lewis, Allen and Andersen could also be X-Factor’s , but my pick is Mario.

Let us know who your X-Factor for the Heat is? And do you agree?
