Cleveland: He’s Just Not That Into You

LeBron Decision Ohio BasketballA lot of Cleveland Cavaliers fans have high hopes of a possible return from LeBron James, but just like the self-help book and subsequent movie, maybe he’s just not that into you. The book and film were basically a narrative explaining to women that they need to stop making excuses for the reason that they aren’t together aren’t with a certain guy and to consider the possibility that he doesn’t like you. That’s it. Nothing more to it Cleveland.

LeBron and the Cavs were like Jr. High sweet-hearts who eventually would marry. They didn’t know anything else but each other as they experienced so many firsts together. LeBron became MVP as Cleveland went to their first Finals. They were in love and nothing could tear them apart. That was until LeBron took a summer trip with the guys and he was made aware that there were other opportunities out there. During the summer of 2008 LeBron James participated in the Olympics as part of team USA with the best basketball players in the world. It was at these games where many speculate the idea of the big three was formed. LeBron returned to Cleveland after the summer like everything was ok, but like any other spouse in a marriage, Cleveland could tell things were different. LeBron was two years away from free agency and Cleveland understood that he could leave, but why would he. Like the good wife Cleveland was they did everything LeBron ask and tried to give him what they thought he wanted. They gave him Mo Williams, Antwan Jamison, and even Shaquille O’Neal, but it wasn’t enough. In the 2010 NBA playoffs LeBron failed to go the  distance. He was not engaged and it was obvious the Cavaliers were losing him, just as they lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. Cleveland had high hopes that they could persuade their significant other to stay by promising him it would be different, but LeBron was infatuated with another. Her name was Miami. She was perfect. She had brains, in GM Pat Riley, and a body to go with it. Miami had just got a brand new “pair” in the re-signing of Dwyane Wade and the signing of Chris Bosh. How could a man turn this voluptuous vixen down? LeBron sure couldn’t as he left the once love of his life for the more attractive option down south. In usually fashion like a woman scorned, Cleveland took the route of bad mouthing their ex while James took the high road because he had clearly won. He was with the better option. Cleveland promised that he would never find another like them and they hopelessly tried to replace the best thing that had ever happened to them with nothing but failed attempts. No man could come close to comparing even though they all came with high hopes, but they just weren’t him. Meanwhile, LeBron and his new love experienced immediate success. LeBron won more MVPs and the Miami Heat won two championships. They seemed to be the perfect couple until things seemed to become a little rocky and Miami lost to the Spurs in five. LeBron and the rest of the big three are now free agents and coming off a beating like they took from San Antonio, the future couldn’t be any foggier. LeBron is at a crossroads in is current relationship and his ex is now calling to see if everything is ok and to see if there is anything that they can do. To some this might seem as if LeBron is considering going back to his ex. Maybe it’s a “you didn’t know what you had until it was gone” scenario or an “if you love something let it go and if it comes back then it was meant to be” situation, or any other cliché saying about old lovers coming back together. Maybe Cleveland and LeBron will get back together and build off of their past mistakes and become a better couple than they were before. Maybe they will go on to win four or five championship and Cleveland put their names amongst the great franchises of the NBA while LeBron becomes the Greatest Player to ever live. Sounds good doesn’t it Cleveland fans? Well maybe not. Maybe just like most couples that got together at young age they realize what they had wasn’t real. Maybe when they get back together they realize everything that went wrong the first time and this time things only get worse. Most people would consider LeBron to be a smart guy and I believe this to be true as well. So any smart guy can see that ultimately Cleveland is not the one for him. Miami is prettier, Miami is smarter, Miami is Miami, and Cleveland is Cleveland. Here’s another cliché saying Cleveland fans, he’s out of your league. So yes a LeBron and Cleveland reunion will be nice to see, but his thing with Miami has been pretty good. Why leave now. It’s time for Cleveland to move on. Quit checking his Facebook to see what he’s up to, quit riding by his house, and focus on what’s in front of you. What you have now may not be LeBron, but there’s some potential there. There are a lot of reasons for LeBron to return to Cleveland, but there is one main reason for him not to and his name is Daniel Gilbert and I know that He’s not that into him at all.

    1. My name is Martel and if you mean this will be stupid in a few hours because LeBron will sign with Cleveland then your comment is stupid. Where he signs doesn’t change the past and that’s all I’ve done here is talk about the past rrelationship between the two and how it might lead to him not signing. I’m not a nba insider so I don’t where he’s signing and being from Ohio I hope he do sign with Cleveland, but once again his signing doesn’t effect my blog at all. Appreciate you taking the time and reading the postand for the sake of you bbeing right I hope he does sign with Cleveland. And with that you should check back tomorrowyou will love my next post
