Fantasy Football: Week 1 Sleepers

Finally, the NFL season kicked off last night with the Green Bay Packers facing off against the Seattle Seahawks. Last night’s game was a fantasy nightmare if you had Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, but it was a treat if you had Marshawn Lynch or the Seattle Seahawks defense. We all know that fantasy football is very popular, and we at the The Front Office News wanted to give you some sleepers for week 1. Take a look at our list.

Anquan Boldin San Francisco 49ers, WR– Anquan Boldin has a history of having big games in several opening games in his career. Boldin’s debut with the San Francisco 49ers last season was memorable as he racked up 13 receptions to go along with 208 yards, and a touchdown. Boldin will be going up against a weaker Dallas Cowboys secondary with Orlando Scandrick out due to suspension. Boldin is normally not a top-tier fantasy wide receiver, but be sure to keep an eye out on him Sunday in Big D (pause).  Colin Kaepernick and offensive coordinator Greg Roman will look to open up the playbook, and Boldin could reap a lot of the benefits.

Montee Ball Denver Broncos, RB– Montee Ball will have a heavy load on his shoulders Sunday. With the departure of Knowshon Moreno and the absence of Wes Welker Peyton Manning will be required to rely on Ball a lot more. All eyes will obviously be on Peyton Manning as they face his former team, but I feel that Montee Ball can sneak in and have a big game. When Peyton has a steady running game he is hard to beat, and in this case Ball can be the answer for Manning this Sunday against the Colts.

Arizona Cardinals Defense/ST– The Arizona Cardinals defense will be missing Darnell Dockett, but Tyrann “The Honeybadger” Mathieu was cleared to play for Monday night. The Cardinals defense will have their hands full with Philip Rivers, but the Cardinals plays lights out while they are at home. The Cardinals will also receive a boost with Ted Ginn Jr anchoring the return game for the Cards.

These are our sleepers for Week 1, we’ll see you again next week.
