The Cavs have been Mozgov’d

Last week the Cleveland Cavaliers added Center Timofey Mozgov via trade from the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets received two protected first round draft picks for the center. The Cavs have had a busy few weeks they added guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert a day before getting Mozgov, trading away firecracker guard Dion Waiters.

A few weeks ago when starting center Anderson Varejao got hurt for the season, it left a huge gap in the newly formed Cavaliers middle. Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and Brendan Haywood were logging all of the power forward/center minutes. Yes, Haywood still plays in the NBA I had no clue either.  Mozgov has been playing solid as of late so this is a positive move for the Cavs even though they are giving up draft picks to acquire a role player, but everyone can’t be a star right?

The fifth year center is averaging 8.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg and 1.2 bpg during the first 35 games of the season.

Even with his recent success, Mozgov will always be remembered for this play. Cues tape!
