RECAP: Norse rout Dolphins 81-59

Saturday afternoon at The Bank of Kentucky Center NKU faced off against the Jacksonville Dolphins. NKU came into the game 2-2 in conference and the Dolphins were 1-3.

This game was all Norse all the time. NKU didn’t trail the whole game even though the Dolphins kept the game close until 5:06 left in the first half, when they were down 2 points. The Dolphins were a two-man show in the first half led by forwards Josh Adeyeye and J.R. Holder who had 11 and 12 points respectively. The two-man show wasn’t enough to hold off a complete team effort from the Norse led by the usual suspects Jalen Billups, Chad Jackson and Tyler White who all had 8 points each at the half. Deontae Cole and Tayler Persons chipped in with strong first twenty minutes with 9 and 6 points respectively. The Norse shot 61.5% from the field on their way to 43 points. The Norse stayed out of foul trouble and only committed 4 turnovers which is a recipe for success.

At the half NKU led 43-32.

The second half was the repeat of the first half as the Norse kept their feet on the gas pedal throughout the whole 40 minutes. NKU made countless energy plays for the fans who attended The Bank of Kentucky Center. Billups had a nice tip dunk, Persons and C. Jackson had nice “And 1’s”. It just was an all out good showing by the Norse as they cruised to a 81-59 victory.

The Norse moved to 3-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference while the Dolphins dropped to 1-4.

Key Players:

Chad Jackson had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.
