Chris Bosh’s injury is deeper than basketball

A few weekend’s ago we were watching Chris Bosh participate in the all-star weekend festivities. He was a reserve on the East squad and paired up with Dominque Wilkins and Swin Cash to win their third (in a row) shooting stars competition. If you paid attention to the all-star forward at all during the weekend all seemed well and rightfully so he received the honor of all-star yet again.

Before the trade deadline the Heat traded for point guard Goran Dragic which instantly made the Heat a threat in the East, but what we (the public) didn’t know is Bosh who was averaging 21.1 ppg and 7.0 rpg was battling something bigger than Roy Hibbert, he is battling blood clots in one of his lungs. He won’t be able to play with his new point guard this season because his health long term is way more important than playing a game that he loves.

Former NBA player Jerome Kersey just died last week from complications from blood clots, he was only 52 years of age, which in the grand scheme of life is young. Hell, that’s only one year younger than my mother, when you put stuff into prospective it gives you a different light on certain situations. Bosh is only 30 years of age which makes him just one year younger than myself, so even if I don’t know Bosh personally his situation hits home because his “injury” wasn’t something caused by playing basketball it was more a random everyday type of situation.

From his Instagram Bosh seems to be doing fine and the people at TFON are rooting for you to get well.
