When the Norse beat USC Upstate on Saturday they clinched a home game in the Atlantic Sun tournament that starts on Tuesday. The Norse is the 4th seed in this year’s tournament, which is a huge feat for the program. This is the first year they were eligible to play in the tournament and for them to be able to host a game in their first try is great for such a young and rising division 1 program.
On Tuesday they will face a familiar foe in the Lipscomb Bisons. These two have split the season series 1-1 and have identical records. The team with home court has won both games and by a convincing margin which bodes well for the Norse as they have the home court advantage on Tuesday. Lipscomb won 80-61 January 10th and NKU won 77-60 February 7th.
For those rooting for the Norse don’t take for granted the home court because tournament ball is a different animal. The game will be played at Regents Hall on campus at 7 pm, I heard it will be a very intimate feel for the teams. The game will be shown on ESPN 3 for those who can’t make it.
How cool would it be for the Norse to win their first conference tournament game? Hopefully Tuesday night will warrant a nice achievement for this team.
