DeAndre Jordan pulls the reverse Carlos Boozer on the Mavericks

11 years ago Carlos Boozer had a verbal agreement to resign with the Clevleand Cavaliers. The deal was six years $40 million it was the Cavs whole mid level exception and back in 2004 that was a good amount of money, but once Boozer was allowed to sign the Utah Jazz swooped in with a six year $68 million deal that lured him from Cleveland to Utah like that. The rest is history, Boozer went on to be an All-Star, play on a couple Olympic teams and the Cavs were left at the altar.

Fast forward to 2015 we have the reverse Boozer, DeAndre Jordan. First day of free agency it was reported that Mark Cuban and Chandler Parsons wined and dined Jordan to join the Dallas Mavericks. Armed with the promises of making him the main option and a four year $80 million contract. Seemingly landing a big assets when it was time to sign reports were that Jordan was staying in LA and Cuban was trying to meet with Jordan but couldn’t get an answer. Their was even a Twitter spat between Cuban’s brother and ESPN reporter Chris Broussard about the information his sources leaked about the situation. Twitter and IG lit up with funny memes of the situation, Cuban and Parsons were scorned.

“Per Mark Cuban” @Chris_Broussard that’s is the dumbest shit Ive ever heard. If you had any ethics u would msg me and I will give u his address

“Per Chris Broussard” CORRECTION: Sources: Cuban beside himself. Driving around downtown HOUSTON begging (thru texts) Jordan’s family 4 address to DeAndre’s home

The battle went on for a few tweets between Broussardanf the Cuban’s. At the end of the day Doc Rivers and crew were able to get Jordan to stay in LA and probably for the same amount of money. Sometimes people get cold feet, but he had a grace period to change his mind.

Mavs fans too man and Clippers fans too happy.
