During the Bearcats intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Tom Groeschen a.k.a. Tommy G tweeted out that 4-star quarterback Ross Trail will be redshirting his freshman season.
This might come as a shock to some, but this is a great move for the future of the Bearcats.

With Gunner Kiel being a redshirt junior it keeps the Bearcats the quarterback position in good hands if he is as good as we all think he is. This move will keep him available for three years after Kiel graduates next year.
Trail used this redshirt year to learn the offense and get in better physical condition, because sooner or later he will be the key to the Bearcats offense.
