The opening week to the season was a sight to see with our opening selections for the best games of the week. We hope to continue the trend, and pick some more entertaining games as well. We hope you enjoy our selections. Please feel free to express your opinion about our choices for games of the week.
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers, Thursday Night Football 8pm, ET
The Bears looked impressive last week while the Packers didn’t fare too well against the San Francisco 49ers. This game will be a great game to see. Both teams are known for their great battles in the NFC North so expect nothing short of a great game. Rodgers & Co. will look to get their offense back on track, and look to air it out against the Bears secondary. The Bears Jay Cutler looked as confident as ever and has his Ex-Bronco teammate Brandon Marshall back so that gives him a formidable weapon. I am taking the Packers by a close margin. I think that Cedric Benson will be the ex-factor in the game.
Detroit Lions @ San Francisco 49ers, Sunday Night Football, 8:20pm, ET
Last season when both teams played the handshake between Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz stole all of the headlines. This season I expect the same result with a much friendlier handshake. The 49ers defense is stout and with more weapons on the offensive end they will be hard to contain. Chris Houston provided some bulletin board material for Randy Moss so it will be interesting to see how things fare for Mr. Houston and the Lions on Sunday. I am predicting a Niners victory (slightly biased opinion lol).
Baltimore Ravens @ Philadelphia Eagles, Sunday, 1:00pm, ET
Last week the Ravens looked close to unstoppable, and the Eagles looked like the Little Giants at times. Michael Vick had a Bad News Kennels Vick like performance and did not throw the ball well leading to four interceptions. While Vick struggled, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco looked like a Pro Bowl Quarterback and the Ravens defense were flying around as usual. I think Flacco will take a step back and Vick will take a step forward as the pressure is mounting on him and Andy Reid in Philly. I will take Philly in a close one.
Denver Broncos @ Atlanta Falcons, Monday Night Football, 8:30pm ET
Now that we know that Peyton Manning is back it is safe to say that the Broncos will be a force to be reckoned with. The Atlanta Falcons A-Town stomped all over the KC Chiefs so this game will be very entertaining to say the least. I want to go with the Falcons, because they have more weapons than Curtis Snow on Snow in the Bluff, but something is telling me not to go against Manning. With that said I have the Broncos in a close one.
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, 1pm, ET
Both teams will be looking for their first victory of the season. Brandon Weeden resembled Camp Rooney more than a legit NFL Quarterback so it will be interesting to see if the Browns call on Colt McCoy if Weeden continues to struggle. With Joe Haden out due to suspension A.J. Green is liable to put up insane numbers. No matter what the records are in the standings the Battle of Ohio is always entertaining to watch. The Bengals more of a well-rounded team, so I have them taking the victory.
