So are we just going to turn the blind eye to Rivers struggles?

With the craze going on about the Cam Newton’s sophomore slump and Michael Vick’s turnover problems everybody is just going to turn the blind eye to Philip “f*** winning” Rivers? Welp, I’m here to say I see what’s going on out in beautiful San Diego.

Did Rivers get some G pass I was unaware of? If so people please let me know. Don’t get me wrong over his tenure with the Chargers he has been a fantasy football all-star but that only goes so far. He did play in the AFC Championship game with a torn ACL, which was beasty but he is getting Brady passes.

I was going to talk about it last football season but I held back but after his performance on MNF against the Broncos I had to shoot the gun. The man had 6 turnovers (2 fumbles and 4 interceptions) all in the 2nd half of a game that the Chargers were up 24-0 at the half. Yes, they were up by 24 with 30 minutes left to play and lost. I would like to thank him also because I won a fantasy league game because of his piss poor performance. The crazy thing about situation is nobody seems to be giving Rivers any flack about it. It must be cool to be a non scrambling QB.

Last year he had the goddy stats of 4624 yards, 62.9% completion pct., 27 tds, 20 ints and 6 fumbles lost. Overall the stats are good if you are blinded by the yards and tds but for every score he made he matched it with 26 turnovers which is ridiculous for a 9 year veteran. Plus the Chargers were 8-8 and didn’t make the playoffs

With just 6 games in during the current season Rivers has 9 ints and 6 fumbles. 15 total turnovers with 10 games left. He is on pace for around 35 + turnovers. Can we say turnover machine?

We know Norv Turner should be on notice but maybe they should look at the play of their star QB.

Media please stop turning the blind eye to his struggles, even Ray Charles can see it!

  1. I don’t think Rivers gets a “pass.” The media doesn’t discuss Phillip Rivers because the casual sports fan doesn’t care about Phil Rivers. I’m more than a casual watcher and if you put Phil Rivers in a line up full of nondescript white men, I wouldn’t recognize him. If Sanchez or Romo has a game like Rivers (which is a possibility for both), the media would be all over it because Sanchez and Romo are “Star QBs.” Rivers isn’t a “star,” which is why his screw ups aren’t a story.

    1. Valid point about the market difference .. but with Cam.they don’t care? They blast him in a midsized market but you are right they would kill Romo and Sanchez .
