Week in and week out there are great games to go along with some amazing story lines. Week 8 continued a great trend of great moments during the football week. Feel free to chime in and comment on our selections if you like. Enjoy!
Philadelphia Eagles Defense is Anemic- It was easy to point the finger at Juan Castillo, because he did not have experience in running a NFL Defense. The Atlanta Falcons went up and down the field on the Eagles which limited what the offense could do on their side of the ball. New Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles defense looked dumb founded playing against the no-huddle offense. It may be personnel issues, but something has to shake for the Eagles before it’s too late.
Tony Romo is Tony Oh-No– I feel that Dallas Cowboys shout “Oh No” a lot when watching No. 9 back at quarterback. I give Romo some credit he led a surge that put the Cowboys in position to win the game against the New York Giants, but he fell short after an interception in the winding moments of the game.
Phillip Rivers is continuing his fall- Shout out for my homie J.T. for telling the truth about Rivers. For years Rivers has been getting pass for his turnover prone play. Michael Vick and Tony Romo are under immense pressure, and they are ridiculed for their turnovers. Though Rivers didn’t turn the ball over he never put the Chargers in position to win the game against the Browns even though the Brown only score seven points
The Vikings are a Fluke– Though the Vikings are 5-3 they are falling off the radar. Percy Harvin and Adrian Peterson are playing out of their minds, but at the end of the day Christian Ponder still has room to grow. With the Packers getting hot, and the Bears playing out of their minds it is hard to see the Vikings making a serious run at the playoffs.
Doug Martin is a beast– Running Backs come a dime a dozen, but Doug Martin almost beat the Vikings by himself with over 200 total yards and 2 touchdowns. At the beginning of the season I thought that it was a mistake to bench LeGarrete Blount, but it seems that Coach Greg Schiano has the right plan going forward.
Ben Roethlisberger is playing elite football- Big Ben has been an elite quarterback for the past few seasons, but this season may be his best. Roethlisberger is taking advantage of Todd Haley’s (Offensive Coordinator) short passing game to go along with a strong running game. Big Ben’s efficiency has been great, and is only gaining more confidence as he continues to learn the new offense. If Ben keeps ups this play while the Steelers defense regains their health, don’t be surprised if you see the Steelers in New Orleans during the month of February.
Steven Jackson should be traded– Steven Jackson has given the city of St. Louis his all during his career as a Ram. The organization should place him on the trading block so he can have a chance to play for a contender. Jackson deserves a chance to win, but the only thing that may hold him back is his hefty salary. #FreeStevenJackson
