LA’s fall guy

In any good movie somebody has to be the fall guy, the plot isn’t complete without one. In Los Angeles if you are not winning championships fingers are pointed and the media hovers. In this what have you done for me lately world it’s win now not tomorrow. In the twists and turns during the NBA season things change on a day to day basis.

On Friday the Lakers organization chose to end the Mike Brown era. I feel Brown was never a good fit for the bright lights of LA but who I am? Money Mike has been known not to be able to handle superstar egos, command the respect a head man needs and adjust to teams in playoff series.

After only one year with the Lakers he decided to install the Princeton offense. In my opinion not a very smart decision. This offense is normally used for teams with inferior talent which is something the Lakers didn’t lack. A head coach must put his players in the best position to exceed, which that offense didn’t do for certain players *points to the injured Steve Nash. The struggle in running the offense and a 1-4 start to the season made the Lakers pull the plug on the experiment.

If you are a Brown supporter or not  he did get a quick axe. He only had controls a whole lockout shortened season and five games into year number two of his contract. At the end of the day don’t feel bad for the fall guy he got a nice buyout to leave lakerland, which is supposed to be 11 million. I’m just glad he isn’t my favorite teams coach anymore, Brown will resurface again but I think he is a better fit for a smaller market team without crazy media coverage and not under the public eye every minute on the hour.

Usher in Mike D’Antoni era, at least we know Nash will have a shot to be more effective. Just remember D’Antoni, Mike Brown found out god forgives Lakers fan don’t.
