We all know that Michael Vick failed to reach the lofty expectations after signing his $100 Million Dollar Contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Rookie Nick Foles has been named the starting quarterback and will likely become the quarterback of the future. So….What is next for Michael Vick? After this season I believe that Michael Vick will be handed a pink slip. There aren’t many teams that need a quarterback so Vick’s options are limited. Teams such as the Chiefs, Jaguars, Cardinals, Jets, and possibly the Vikings could use a makeover at the QB position. The upcoming NFL Draft is not stock piled with Quarterbacks like last years draft, so that works into Vick’s favor.
I believe Vick can be still be a top 15 Quarterback if he is placed in the right system. Andy Reid wanted to turn Vick into Aaron Rodgers instead of letting Vick be himself. It didn’t make any sense not to use the running game to take pressure off of him. Dropping Vick back to pass 50 times did not make any sense making it a greater risk for Vick to get injured. By having a shaky offensive line and shotty play-calling he was doomed for failure.
Michael Vick has beat the odds before, and I believe that he can do it again, but that’s only if he receives a legitimate chance to become a starting Quarterback in the NFL again.
