What We Learned During Week 13 of the NFL Season

Adrian+Peterson

Adrian Peterson Continues His Insane Play– Yes the Vikings lost against the Packers, but how could you not show Peterson any love. If Peterson continues his strong play this should be recognized as one of the best seasons in NFL History by a running back due to the severe injury that he suffered not even a whole year ago. Peterson is on pace to have his best statistical season, and that is going against nine players in the box due to having a lack of a quarterback presence.

The NFC East is Wide Open– Every teams outside of the Philadelphia Eagles have a legitimate chance in winning the division crown. The Cowboys, Redskins, and Giants will have to probably win out in order for one of them to get a playoff spot. It will be interesting to see how things shake up the NFC East Division.

Drew Brees Needs to go back to the Basics– For the past two weeks Drew Brees has looked like David Klinger rather than the player we all adore. Brees has thrown for seven interceptions in two games and will need to turn around his play if the Saints want to make the playoffs.

The 2012 Rookie Quarterback Class is Special– Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill, Andrew Luck, and Robert Griffin III are playing beyond their years this season. Tannehill has struggled as of late, but he has flashed some big time talent in several games. Wilson, Luck, and Griffin III all had defining victories this past week that moved their teams one more step towards the playoffs. The Rookie of the Year of Award will probably go to Luck or RGIII, but that doesn’t mean that the other quarterbacks should not get any shine.

Mark Sanchez is Becoming Worse– There was a time when Mark Sanchez was viewed as the “Sanchize”, but that seems like many many moons ago. Sanchez played a horrible game against the Arizona Cardinals, and was taken out of the game for Greg McElroy who ended up leading the Jets to a victory with a touchdown pass to Tight End Jeff Cumberland. Sanchez will likely start next week, but it’s hard to see why with the way he has been playing this season.
