On Tuesday night I finally got to see Kobe Bryant and the Lakers play in person. I got one of my major bucket list items checked off last week. It felt damn good too. Shout out to my homie Nate getting me a solid price on those tickets.
I gassed up the whip and tore up I-71 North. Made it there with time to spare. Realized that Cleveland’s downtown was pretty big. Even got to see again where the man they call number 23’s billboard hung, a damn Sherwin Williams poster hangs there now ain’t that a *****.
So, now that I’ve made it to the game, I realize that the Cavs fans are legit at least they seemed to be during the whole game and I can respect that.
Game Notes:
Kobe put on a damn show, scoring 42 points on over 50% shooting. This is the first time I was able to watch a whole Lakers game this season, now I understand why Kobe shoots sooo much. Dwight right now looks like a shell of himself, he can’t be 100% he let Andy and Tyler control him one on one at times. Dwight had a good stat line but it wasn’t impressive. Our defense was turrible(Charles Barkley voice), our rotations sucked and we allow a lot of 2nd chance points. I feel when Nash comes back the offense will run a lot smoother but defense is a team effort thing. I liked how Meeks played also.
As for the Cavs, Kyrie put on a damn show also messed around in got a triple double, seriously. Andy balled out, as did the new Laker killer C.J. Miles and Gee. I was salty that Dion Waiters didn’t get to because he was injured but hey beggers can’t be choosers.
Play of the game in my opinion is when Kyrie and Kobe had a one on one showdown where it looked it could have been a MJ/Iverson moment, Kobe stuck with Kyrie and eventually blocked his shot to tell the young man it wasn’t ready to go out like that. Even that moment couldn’t stop the Lakers from catching that fade losing 100-94.
After the game was over I wasn’t able to talk the trash I thought I would be able coming into the game. So, I slowed my role and just enjoyed the atmosphere. Maybe the next time I see them play live the game will have a better outcome nonetheless I had a good time with good people
