At one point Tracy McGrady was arguably one of the best players in the NBA before injuries derailed his career. T-Mac achieved just about any accolade one can achieve on an individual basis other than getting MVP. By McGrady having the same back as Betty White, and the knees of Greg Oden it appeared that McGrady was doomed. McGrady worked hard with trainer Tim Grover and was healthy enough to be a contributor to a team. After leaving Houston McGrady had a short stints with the Knicks, Pistons, and Hawks.
In T-Mac’s last season with Atlanta Hawks he showed some flashes, but in reality his last season was about as memorable as a Jody Breeze CD. Since leaving the NBA McGrady has been in playing in China in the CBA. McGrady has shown some flashes of the old T-Mac, but we have to remember he is playing against easier competition McGrady had to have some juice in the tank for the Spurs to give him an opportunity.
With Stephen Jackson recently being cut McGrady will likely supplant his position as a veteran player off of the bench. Tracy McGrady has failed to play past the first round of the playoffs in his entire career. Now that McGrady is playing with the Spurs he will more than likely reach second round paradise lol.
I know that the Spurs didn’t get the T-Mac of 2004, but it is always cool to see former All-Stars to get a chance to win when they never had the opporunity to. If Jerry Stackhouse can still cash NBA checks why can’t T-Mac.
