Throwback Thursday: Remembering The Golden State Warriors Playoff Upset Over the Dallas Mavericks

In 2007 the Dallas Mavericks were the best team in the Western Conference and Dirk Nowitzki was just awarded the MVP award. Things seemed pretty easy for the Mavs playing the eight seed Golden State Warriors. This series had many story lines due to the rift between Don Nelson and Mark Cuban. The Warriors were hot at the time acquiring Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington in a trade for Mike Dunlavey, Troy Murphy, and a bag of skittles. With the trade it gave the Warriors depth and a mean swagger on the court. Combining the trade and the rejuvenation of Baron Davis the Mavericks were in trouble from the start of the series. The Warriors went on to lose in the second round to the Utah Jazz, but them beating the No.1 seed in the first round made one of the biggest headlines in the playoffs. Here is a video to take you down memory lane. Enjoy!
