The Cleveland Cavaliers took a very calculated gamble signing one of the most unpredictable players in the NBA last week. The Cavs signed Andrew “Yolo” Bynum to a 2 year 24 million dollar deal. The Cavs did a great job with this deal because they have an out clause, can save themselves some base salary and keep flexibility for next year all in one. The more you look at the deal it is a win win for they higher-ups in the front office, only 6 million is guaranteed in the first year of the deal and the second year is a team option so if he plays poor or stays hurt they can cut ties without much repercussion.
Last year Bynum was all side-show as he didn’t play in a single after being included in a blockbuster trade becoming somewhat of a Philadelphia 76er. While his antics were entertaining to some and maddening to others a lot of us forget Bynum has one of the best skill sets out all the NBA big men.
Bynum didn’t play a game at all last year due to multiple knee injuries but he is reunited with Mike Brown the man who helped him has his best season in the NBA. If Brown can get the 11-12 Bynum the Cavs will be very much a threat in the Eastern Conference, say what you want about Bynum he does work on the block. If he doesn’t play good this will be a one year experiment.
I personally can’t wait to get some Cleveland Bynum sightings, this should make for an interesting season. Make sure you guys join the Twitter #YoloBynum movement thanks and peace.
