Ronnie Fields: The Story of a Basketball Legend

In the mid 1990’s Ronnie Fields was one of the best high school basketball players in the country. Fields played at Farragut Academy in Chicago. Fields gained a lot of notoriety while playing with future Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett. After Garnett’s departure Fields showed that he could do more than hold his own.

Fields averaged 32.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 4.5 blocks, 4 steals, and 4.5 dunks a game. Fields was selected to the McDonald’s All-American team as well as several other All-American teams.

At the time Fields and Kobe Bryant were the two of the  best players in the class of 1996.  At the peak of Fields high school season he got into a horrific car accident where he broke his neck.  Fields never made it to the NBA, but played professional ball for several years.
