During the month of July I have been watching a lot of NBA Summer League basketball, it is cool to see players that played for big programs in college and some rotational players work on their game.
After watching a lot of summer league ball I was amazed that Andrew Goudelock has yet to be signed by any NBA team. Goudelock has been playing for the Chicago Bulls summer league team and he has been getting buckets. He’s been getting to the rim, shooting floaters and showing range, whatever you want him to do on the court he has been doing. During 5 games in Vegas he is averaging 19 ppg, 47% fgp, 52% 3 pt and 85% from the line. I know I know this is Summer League but after putting this kind of display why haven’t a few teams been running to sign the lethal combo guard?
Goudelock was the 2012-13 D-League MVP, I know this doesn’t mean auto ticket to an NBA team but with minimal opportunity with the Lakers last season in the playoffs when the whole team was hurt he put on solid numbers during the two games he played significant minutes in.
I’m not saying he’s a star but it’s odd that teams haven’t given him a look as a 6th man type person. Everyone needs a scorer who can create give Goudelock a shot, it won’t cost you much during the 2013-14 season but the summer after his agent may imply inflation.
