After two seasons in the NFL, Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton has shown greatness while on the field. Newton who won the Rookie of the Year award in 2011 has gotten lost in shuffle when talking about younger Quarterbacks.
Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Robert Griffith III have garnered most of the attention since they made noise in their first season on the field as a starter. Many teams are changing their style of play, and are adapting to wide open style of play that is being used heavily in College Football.
Newton, who will be entering his third season in the NFL will look to take the next step on the field. Newton had a rocky beginning to last season, and finished strong ending the season with a total of 27 Touchdowns (Passing and Running) to go along with 3,869 yards passing.
With the Panthers not having a playoff appearance since the 2007-2008 season the Panther faithful will be chomping at the bit for the team to take the next step. If Cam Newton takes it to the next level be prepared to see the Panthers follow suit as well. Only time will tell if Newton & Co are able to take it to the next level in the brutal NFC South.
