When people talk about Stephen Jackson there are many negatives you can bring up, but people tend to steer clear of the positives that he can bring to a Championship contending team. Jackson, who had an ugly exit with the San Antonio Spurs is a free agent and is likely in his last few years of his solid career.
Many people won’t say it, but the Spurs could have used Jackson against the Miami Heat. With his size, versatility, and beast mentality on the court his impact would have done wonders. I’m not saying the Spurs would have won, but they would have had someone to turn to when Danny Green went into Nick Anderson mode.
Jackson may be a rapper and all of the above, but when he is between those lines he is all business. Jackson’s age(35) and red flags may scare some teams away, but someone should take a chance. Oklahoma City(Sorry Ibaka), Houston, Los Angeles Clippers, and many other teams can add “Captain Jack” to the roster and it could make a positive impact on the court.
In the past Jackson has shown that he has been worth the risk, so why should things change all of a sudden.
