Ok, nobody expected to see Peyton Manning throw seven touchdowns on opening night. The Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos game was just a sample how exciting week 1 will be. Take a look at our picks for games of the week. Let us know what you think, and drop a line.
Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers
The two teams faced off last season twice, and my niners came out on top last season in both contests. I think that the Packers will try to slow down Kapernick on the ground, but there are too many weapons to contain on the 49ers offense. I think that it will be a high scoring affair, and I have the 49ers beating Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.
Final Score: 35 Niners 28 Packers
New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys (Sunday Night Football)
History is not on the Cowboys side with Eli Manning playing in Cowboy Stadium. Manning, who is undefeated in the new stadium looks to stay that way. It is always title or bust in Dallas, and the expectations are even higher for incumbent quarterback Tony Romo. Romo, who was awarded a contract over $100 million dollars looks to live up to the hype of the contract. I believe that this game will be a thriller. With guys like Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Dez Bryant playing for both teams I expect a lot of big plays. I feel that the secondary of the Cowboys will cause Dallas to fall just short against the G Men.
Final Score: 31 Giants 24 Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins (Monday Night Football)
How will Chip Kelly’s new offense look? How will RGIII look? This is a very intriguing game that will be very entertaining. Both teams have exciting skill players that can light up the scoreboard. The defense of the Eagles is not up to par with the Redskins, but I feel that they are better than what people perceive them to be. RGIII may be a little rusty coming out the gates due to him missing the preseason. I think LeSean McCoy has a big day and leads the Eagles to victory.
Final Score: 27 Eagles 21 Redskins
