Being a Cleveland Indians fan has not been easy the past few years or so…Well actually a little longer than that, but I won’t put a number on it. Overall it has been rough for the Cleveland Indians prior to this season.
The Tribe was awarded an AL Wildcard birth, and will play the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Nobody is expecting the Tribe to make it the World Series, but the doubts even began before the season.
Everyone knew that Terry Francona was a top flight Manager even though he was marinating in the ESPN studios. When Francona was selected over Sandy Alomar Jr I was a little upset at first, because Sandy Alomar was a great player for the Tribe in the 90’s. After a few thoughts I thought that Francona can help lead the Tribe back to the John Hart/Mike Hargrove days.
To turnaround a roster that didn’t have many drastic changes was a great accomplishment for the Indians and Francona. Now that the Indians are in the playoffs a lot can happen at this point. Many people aren’t picking the Indians to make it past the ALCS, but hey those same people didn’t expect the Indians to be playing at this point of the season.
Whatever happens at the end of the season Terry Francona deserves a huge THANK YOU from Tribe fans. #RollTribe
