A week in the NBA has gone by and thanks to a free week of NBA League Pass I was able to see a little bit of every team in the league. Here’s my opinion on every team this season.
The Atlanta Hawks are still the same Atlanta Hawks. Yeah some of the faces have changed, but they are still a team on the outside looking in as they will once again compete for the 4th or 5th spot in the east. Korver has been ballin’ even though you can’t count on him when it gets real.
The Boston Celtics are the worst team in basketball. Brad Stevens should’ve stayed at Butler. It’s going to be really messed up when this upcoming draft becomes the 97 draft all over again. (See 97 draft)
The Brooklyn Nets ain’t winning the ‘ship. They’re not even coming close. First Round and done.
The Charlotte Bobcats are well…The Charlotte Bobcats. Look on the bright side, they’ll be the Hornets next year. I hope Jordan knows Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, and Muggsy Bogues don’t come with the name.
I said Derrick Rose would win MVP. I’m slowly back tracking on that prediction. I said the Chicago Bulls would win the NBA Championship. I’ve almost turned around and fully sprinted away from that one. But it’s early.
Andrew Bynum is playing, Anthony Bennett still hasn’t scored, (as of when I typed this statement) and Dion Waiters still hasn’t figured out he’s not the best player on that team. That’s the Cleveland Cavaliers season so far. Oh Uncle Drew is still getting buckets.
The Dallas Mavericks are a lot better then I thought they could be. Monte Ellis is actually thinking before he just jacks it up.
The Denver Nuggets sure do miss George Karl.
The Detroit Pistons Motor City jerseys are dope.
The Golden State Warriors will be the first team to score 200 points in regulation. Far fetched I know but damn they can score. The splash brothers outside, Bogut and Lee inside. Now if they could keep from turning it over 30 times a game they might have something.
The Houston Rockets will be tough to beat. And as I back off my Derrick Rose for MVP prediction I slowly lean toward James Harden for MVP.
The Indiana Pacers are the best team in Basketball. (For now) Paul George is the 2nd best wing?
The Los Angeles Clippers are my pick to represent the West in the finals. Chris Paul is playing out of his mind and J.J. Reddick has been a real difference maker. Doc will have them ready.
The Los Angeles Lakers are a very entertaining team to watch. Nick Young and his “I’m always open” attitude is worth the admission alone.
The Memphis Grizzlies bore me.
Does the regular season mean anything to the Miami Heat? Wake them up when the playoffs start.
I didn’t even realize the Milwaukee Bucks still had a basketball team.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are for real. Kevin Love is the best big man in the league.
The New Orleans Pelicans have disappointed me so far, but what do expect from a team named the Pelicans. Maybe they can use the “Bobcats” when Charlotte is done.
It’s never going to happen for the New York Knicks. I feel sorry for Spike.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are so two years ago. I don’t know why, but I’m completely over them.
The Orlando Magic have the future rookie of the year in Victor Olidipo.
Michael Carter Williams might have something to say about that. A good friend of mine told me to never trust a man with three names. Oh, and Philadelphia 76ers fans enjoy your three game winning streak because you will not have another one this season.
The Phoenix Suns play hard. I like that team.
The Portland Trail Blazers don’t play hard. I don’t like that team.
The Sacramento Kings have Boogie Cousins, and they also have my pick for rookie of the year Ben McLemore. They have Shaq too!
San Antonio Spurs window has to be closed. Right?
I don’t know what to say about the Toronto Raptors.
The Utah Jazz should be better than what their record is. Tyrone Corbin won’t last much longer.
The Washington Wizards will make the Playoffs.
