No Quarterback is safe in Green Bay these days, the last two weeks have brokered two injuries to their signal callers. First off losing Aaron Rodgers for any amount of time is heartbreaking, when your elite QB goes down that’s not what franchise front office’s want to deal with.
Rodgers is supposed to be out at least 3 weeks but they don’t have a set time-table on when the superstar will return. With Rodgers out, his backup Seneca Wallace got hurt in the 1st half of the 1st game he started in the place of Rodgers. Rodgers has a left shoulder injury while Wallace has a pulled hamstring.
So with the QB position in Green Bay being a mash unit, here comes Scott Tolizien. The only people who know who Tolizen are: Wisconsin Badgers fans, 49ers fans and his family. Tolzien was one of the better Wisconsin QB’s, that doesn’t say much but behind Russell Wilson (who was there for a year) and Brooks Bollinger, I place Tolzien number 3 in that programs history from what I was able to see with my own eyes.
The Packers went from being a division favorite to hanging on for dear life with the Rodgers injury. Can Tolzien right the ship with 7 games left and no set return date insight of their captain?
Tolzien threw for 280 in backup duty versus the Eagles. Also had a touchdown and 2 interceptions but being thrown to the fire and playing solid should give the Packers hope for the playoffs.
If Tolzien plays good he may play himself into a big contract from another team, see Matt Flynn. Ready or not it’s Tolzien time Packer fans, his right arm will be key if this 5 and 4 team has a chance for the playoffs in January.
