Monta Ellis may not be a household name as far the NBA is concerned but it should be. Quietly Monta is putting together a great season with his new team in Dallas. There were many questions heading into this year stating with could he co exist with aging veteran star Dirk Nowitzki.
It’s no secret Ellis likes to shoot more than James Bond in a speeding Aston Martin, and Dirk isn’t shy about putting them up either. Also with all these jumpers who is going to play some defense, but surprisingly right now the Maverick’s are right in the top half of the Western Conference.
Averaging just under 24 ppg 3 reb and 5 asst his numbers are almost identical to James Harden’s the default best two guard in the league(Kobe hasn’t played yet). You heard that right D Wade is at least fourth behind them with Klay Thompson eyeing his spot. With an identical record to the Houston Rockets right now and meshing with Dirk sooner then most of us thought Dallas may be back after all.
It sounds crazy but a guy who averaged 25 a few years ago and is in his eighth year in the league may be finally having his “coming out party.” The Sip hasn’t been this proud since David Banner dropped Cadillac’s on 22’s.
