The NFL is officially the No Fun League. NFL Commissioner Sgt.Slaughter a.k.a. Roger Goodell implemented a rule that slam dunking on the goal post after a touchdown will result in a 15 yard penalty. From the big hits to celebrations the NFL is losing it’s entertainment value. Fans enjoyed to see football players slam dunking on the goal post, and it added entertainment to the game.
It seems like every year Commissioner Goodell attempts to put a damper on the NFL, and will only continue. Touchdown celebrations don’t harm the game in any way. Some feel that they are showing up an opponent, but if the opponent can’t keep them out of the end zone players should have every right to celebrate in any fashion. Football is a game of emotion and passion, and before you know it the players will have flags hanging off of their jerseys. I guess Tony Gonzalez retired at the right time since Goodell is doing his best impersonation of Dikembe Mutumbo by preventing the slam dunk. R.I.P to the Touchdown Slam Dunk you’ll be missed.
