The San Antonio Spurs is a world class organization, and yesterday they took it to another level by hiring former WNBA star and future Basketball Hall of Famer Becky Hammon. Becky Hammon is one of the best female basketball players in women’s basketball history. Hammon is the first woman that has been hired as a full-time coach in NBA history. This is a groundbreaking move for women and sports and with the NBA.
It’s great to see gender equality in society, and it’s even better to see in such a male dominated area such as the NBA. With Hammon breaking the barriers it will start to become a norm to have a female on NBA benches in due time. The San Antonio Spurs struck gold once again, and they continue to show why they are arguably the best organization in all of sports.
