The Houston Astros may be at the bottom of the AL West, but Chris Carter is keeping them in the news due to his stellar play as of late. Carter has been one of the best players in the MLB over the past month or so, and it has been a joy to watch.
Carter is known to be a power hitter with a very inconsistent bat. Carter has the ability to go yard every time at bat, but his batting average has always raised eyebrows. Carter has a history of not being the most efficient hitter, and that’s what makes this run so impressive. When looking at Carter’s stats he is only hittin 230., but he as hit 28 home runs and drove in 68 runs. Prior to his hot streak, Carter was only hitting 219. Carter has been as hot as the Houston weather at the moment, and he will look to continue that trend for as long as he can. With baseball being such a long grind there are many peaks and valleys when it comes to players, and right now Carter as flourishing at his peak. In the month of August, Carter is batting 400. with 8 RBI’s, and 6 home runs in six games.
During Carter’s run of hot play he is now the AL leader surpassing Mike Trout. Carter hit 29 home runs last season so he has a track record of being a power hitter when he connects on pitches. It’s pretty obvious that Carter will surpass that number, while he enjoying his best season yet. It’s an unknown if Carter can keep up his All-Star like play, but if he doesn’t it has been a joy to watch.
