Here we go again…….It seems like there is a reoccurring theme when taking about injuries being synonymous with the St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford. The former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year suffered another season ending injury with a recent ACL tear.
Bradford, who was returning from the same exact injury was injured in a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. Bradford has a history of being injured dating back to his days as a member of the Oklahoma Sooners. While in college Bradford won a Heisman Trophy in 2008, but ruined a chance at a repeat opportunity to win the award after injuring his AC joint.
While in the NFL Bradford has shown he can play at a high level, and he’s had his fair share of head-scratching moments as well, but in all fairness he does not play with a top-tier offensive skill player. It seems like when things are on the positive route something negative happens. St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has built a tough team under his tenure, but stability at the quarterback position has been a problem.
The Rams were looking forward to having Bradford as the signal caller once again. Bradford has been up and down since his rookie season, and this year was sort of an evaluation period for the young QB. Now that Bradford is hurt that halts the development of Bradford and the Rams. With Bradford out, Shaun Hill will take over the duties at quarterback. No disrespect to Hill, but Jeff Fisher didn’t sign up to become head coach to have a host of journeymen quarterbacks taking over that role.
The Rams have a top-notch defense, and as a whole the team is as competitive as it gets when looking at other teams in the NFL.
It sucks to see a team with so much promise, and a player like Bradford continue to get hit with negativity. Get well Sam, you didn’t deserve this injury.
