Everyone has an opinion and right or wrong you have the responsibility to voice it. So a few days after the public was able to view the Ray and Janay Rice incident social media and the sports world exploded, my first thought is TMZ broke the story. You are telling me September 8th was the first day anybody besides TMZ and the Casino had this footage? Yeah right and I’m a 60 year old Caucasian man.
Domestic Violence of any sort is wack and I know it may be levels to any situation, but after seeing how Ray Rice conducted himself in that elevator nobody can defend his actions. Hopefully Ray and Janay will be able to move forward after the random timing of the footage being made public.
Already on a light sentence of a two game suspension, Rice’s contract was terminated once the TMZ footage was aired. The world got light of this incident in February and you are telling me that the Ravens and NFL have just now; September 8th received and viewed this footage? Man get the h*** out of here Mr. Goodell and crew. Now all of the public outrage, which can be justified seeing it live, but the NFL and the Ravens, could’ve helped the Rice Family get over this situation a lot sooner if it handled the situation immediately once seeing the footage. I’m not buying this first time seeing the footage act all the Ravens higher ups are spewing on TV.
The after math is Rice is released and probably won’t be resigned by any NFL once he’s reinstated and now his wife has her scars reopened in the public light. I’m not saying Rice shouldn’t be jobless, but everyone deserves a second chance and Janay deserved not to have to wake up to seeing an incident she put past her on every screen in the US. Good job NFL good job.
It will be interesting to see what happens. The NFL has a rule similar to double jeopardy. You can’t punish someone twice for the same crime. He was suspended, so that was is punishment by the NFL. For the NFL to come back and band him is kind of illegal.
