I know it’s early in the NBA Season, but Steph Curry is on pace to have his best season yet. On paper his numbers are quite similar with averaging around 24ppg and close to 8 apg, but when you see Curry play you can tell that he is playing with a new confidence. Curry, is enjoying the new challenges that have me given to him by new head coach Steve Kerr. We all know that Curry can score with the best of them, but this year he is showing all facets of his game. Curry has been assigned to guard the opposing teams point guards which was something that wasn’t expected of him when being coached by Mark Jackson.
Under Kerr, the Warriors look like a legit threat to compete with the Spurs. It helps that the team has a healthy Andrew Bogut, and improved Klay Thompson, and a MVP caliber player in Curry so it makes things a lot easier. Former head coach Mark Jackson laid the foundation in Golden State, and Steve Kerr is helping take them to a new level also with the help of Steph Curry turning taking his game to a new level.
It’s quite scary to see that Curry can improve, and this season we are seeing it happen right before our eyes. When people mention the best point guards in the NBA, you always hear the names of Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and Derrick Rose, but it’s time to place Curry in conversation as the best of the best at the point guard position. Steph Curry has always been a notch below the aforementioned names, but with the new challenges presented by Steve Kerr that day is now here.
