At the beginning of the week Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians named Logan Thomas the starting quarterback for the season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. All seemed well for Thomas and then the rug got pulled from under him as Arians stated he was going back to underwhelming starter Ryan Lindley. If you saw Lindley play the last few weeks this can’t be abode of confidence for the young Thomas. Reading into this from the outside seems like a clue Drew Stanton might not be ready for the playoffs?
This post isn’t solely about how Thomas lost his chance to start, it’s about how it reminded me of a Martin episode when Martin in the crew played the ’96 USA’s women basketball team in 3 on 3. Cole said, “Said he had Jordan” which Martin was dumb enough to believe, but it happened to be “Air Gordon” who was an old man who wasn’t in basketball shape at his current state. Martin called Gordon into the game, but he took so long to get into the game he benched him before a play even happened. Dawn Staley, Teresa Edwards, Rebecca Lobo and Sheryl Swoopes laid the smack down, but that was beside the point it was all about the “Air Gordon” scene. Air Gordon you in, Air Gordon you out.
Why did Arians do Thomas like Gordon? Judge me if you want, but the things you think about while at work on the day after Christmas. Hopefully you guys laugh as I did during this random comparison.
