On the other side of the field, Bill Belichick and his staff will be looking for their 4th Super Bowl since he arrived back in 2000. With more tricks up his sleeve than a street magician, His predecessor Pete Carrol will have his hands full on Super Bowl Sunday. Looking virtually unstoppable on the run almost all year, the Patriots will most likely seek to mimic their prior success in the conference finals. Facing the best in the league in “The Legion of BOOM”, Belichick will not be able to claim his 4th ring as a head coach if he does not mix it up, something his offense has done week in week out. With no ace in his pocket, the jackpot for Bill will lie within the confines of his vast play calls.
On paper this tilt looks like one for the ages. The stats for each team are excellent and they both are on top of their respective conferences. The story lines are plenty, Pete Carrol is the only other coach to be hired on as the Patriots main guy since owner Robert Kraft took over almost two decades ago, the previously mentioned Brady/Sherman &Thomas feud, the growing saga between Marshawn Lynch and the media, the attempted espionage and violent revenge with Brandon Browner and most recently the irritating “DeflateGate”. On Media Day, these story lines and many more were addressed only to be silenced and shut down by everyone involved. The focus is undeniable for each team, a task proven much more difficult in the past.
Thus when the anthem is over, the aircrafts flown by and the coin tossed high into the sky, all attention will be directed towards the play of both teams. Predictions will be useless as anything can happen, something we have witnessed throughout the season and playoffs alike. So get your drinks and appetizers ready, we could be in for quite the show. Until Sunday, when we find out who is the best team in the NFL right now. Whether it be the offense heavy Pats or the tough as nails Defense for the Seahawks, one thing is for sure…..
LETS GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!
