When I first heard and saw the tweets exchanged between LeBron James and Kendrick Perkins I thought these Cavs really have a chance to win the NBA Finals this year. This team has been reconstructed overnight as they built and broken down like Legos through each trade.
It’s a Blessing for me to have another opportunity to join a Great Organization @cavs! Can’t wait to play with Greatness @KingJames!#TheLand

When Anderson Varajeo was lost for the season, the Cavs were currently on the market for more help in the paint in the loss of one of it grunts hurt a lot. The Cavs then made a deal for Timofey Mozgov and he has played great, but the Cavs didn’t have any size once Mozgov went to the bench. I know Love and Thompson play hard, but they aren’t true bangers you need when it comes down to the grunt work. That is where the Perkins signing comes into play now with a true center on board players like Thompson and Love don’t have to play out of position as an necessity which makes the Cavs that much more dangerous. Worst case scenario Perkins plays 15-20 minutes a game and commits 6 hard fouls honestly that’s all they need him for. He can make it rough for the opposing center, clean the glass and protect the stars.
This year the Cavs during the season have traded for Mozgov, J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and no have added Kendrick Perkins via free agency. It looks like the Eastern Conference teams will be looking to avoid Cleveland as long as possible and weather won’t be the reason ( well in the spring/summer that isn’t a problem in the Midwest but you get the joke).
Perkins averaged 4.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game with the Thunder. Perkins was traded to the Utah Jazz and bought out after the trade was complete.
