This year’s Franchise/Transition tag deadline has come and gone. Word on the street is a possibility a lot of players would be franchise tagged, but after the smoke has cleared six players were slapped with the tag.
Franchised tagged players:
Dallas Cowboys- Dez Bryant, WR
Denver Broncos- Demaryius Thomas, WR
Kansas City Chiefs- Justin Houston, OLB
New England Patriots- Stephen Gostkowski, K
New York Giants- Jason Pierre-Paul, DE
Transition tagged player:
Miami Dolphins- Charles Clay, TE
Teams who have tagged players have until mid-July if they want to give the player a multi-year deal. Transition tag allows a team to match other offers from teams who pursue their player. They don’t get compensation that may be possible if the player was franchise tagged. The payout is also around 15-20% less for a transition tagged player. With the player’s that have been tagged which ones should receive a big pay-day soon? Let us know your opinion
