Soon as the Denver Broncos season was ended by the Indianapolis Colts the main question or questions is whether they could afford both Demaryius and Julius Thomas. The Broncos franchise tagged Demaryius leaving Julius free to test the water.
The Jacksonville Jaguars gave Thomas the money was looking for with a five year deal worth $46 million and $24 million guaranteed. So no matter what Thomas will be $24 million richer whether it’s one or five years down the road you can’t be mad at that? He has had an injury history which caused him to miss the whole 2012 season and five games in the 2014 season. That being said he also played with Peyton Manning so that helped Thomas blow up. He is a mismatch tight end who isn’t much of a blocker and if he can stay healthy will help out the young Blake Bortles.
The last two years Thomas has scored 24 touchdowns and even missing the said 5 games he scored 12 times. He had 43 receptions to go along with those 12 TDS that’s damn near a 1:4 ratio which isn’t bad at all. Thomas had to strike while the iron was hot who knows what the future holds you have to grab the cash when it’s offered because next year who knows what will happen in the NFL. The Jags got the player they wanted and Thomas got the cash he wanted sounds like a win-win situation.
