Al Haymon bringing Boxing to regular TV proves he’s for the people

When Al Haymon signed a deal to get Premier Boxing Champions on regular TV it was pure genius. How many times have you wanted to watch boxing, but you didn’t want to pay for the pay per view or you didn’t have the premium channel in your cable package? For me, myself and I it has been may of times where I have fit into this category. That is why this new deal is so cool, Haymon has brought back boxing to the casual fan which in turn will bring more buzz to boxing as a whole if people follow the movement.

Haymon currently has a deal with CBS, NBC, SpikeTV, ABC and ESPN to bring fights to non-premium TV. How cool is it that a few fights will be on local TV (CBS, NBC and ABC)? As a kid that didn’t have cable a lot growing up I think it is awesome. NBC was the first to air the PBC fights as Broner/Molina and Thurman/Guerrero were Co-Main Events. To have quality fights that most of the population can watch is a step in the right direction as boxing looks to keep interest the way that the UFC has in the recent years.

The only bad part of the new PBC is it knocked out Friday Night Fights, but the positive is they will be putting on more quality fights on ESPN and ESPN 2.

Haymon is one of the smartest guys in the boxing game in this move proves it, I highly believe it will be successful in the long run. PBC is for the people folks don’t be late to the party!
