Dashon Goldson is one of my current favorite safeties in the NFL, mainly because he always held the back end down for the 49ers (my favorite team), but because of the reckless abandon he plays with once he enters those white lines.
Goldson played the last two years with the Buccaneers after starting his career with the 49ers and today he was traded to the Washington Redskins for a 6th round pick in the 2016 draft. Goldson a nine year pro is heading into the third year of his five year deal he signed in 2013 worth $41 million over five years.
The guy they call “The Hawk” is known for his bone crunching tackles, for the Redskins or Washington whichever you want to call them to get him for a 6th round pick is borderline robbery if you are willing to pay his yearly salary. If Goldson has more freedom in the back end and not a set structure like the “Cover 2” he will make a lot of plays that will help Washington.
Tampa Bay have fun with Chris Conte and Washington make sure you use Goldson right, because if you do it will place fear in the receivers facing the Redskins secondary.
