Los Angeles move or not Rivers new deal keeps him with the Chargers

During the offseason the big talk was that possibly the Tennessee Titans were going to trade their 2nd overall pick which eventually became Marcus Mariota for Philip Rivers because Rivers didn’t want to sign with the Chargers if they were moving to Los Angeles after the 2015 season. We all know that the Chargers haven’t been able to get a deal done to stay in San Diego and prime candidates along with the St. Louis Rams to be a joint sharer of the new stadium being built in Los Angeles.

Hindsight 20/20 the deal didn’t happen and magically the Chargers front office started to get a deal done with their franchise quarterback. The deal was done at the tune of four years $83.25 million with $65 million guaranteed with $37.5 million earned this year. Man why didn’t I play quarterback? Writing his name one time netted him almost $38 million can’t be mad at that at all.

With this deal done Rivers will be the Chargers quarterback for the foreseeable future pretty much meaning he will retire a Charger no matter it be in San Diego or Los Angeles. If I was a betting man, I’d say it will be in Los Angeles.

Rivers is heading into his 12th season and after an off season full of doubt everything seems to be clear as the southern California sky now. Rivers and his gang (I want to say he has 7 kids) won’t have to worry about anything except the possibility of having to change schools because his football career is carved in stone.
