The Minnesota Vikings now stand at 4-2 in 2015. Yes, I say that or type that rather proudly. For what it’s worth two of those victories came against the Detroit Lions (1-6) and the Vikings were down in both of those games before storming back. The other two victories are respectable vs. San Diego and Kansas City. Their loss to Denver by 3 could have went either way. The other loss to San Francisco, yes the one with Colin Kaepernick at the helm right now beat the Vikings decisively in week one, but would probably lose big should they meet today. No excuses for any team in the league at this point though. In the words of the late Al Davis “Just win baby” and so far the Vikings have done that more often than not this season. With the bizarre season they had last year things were very uncertain and it centered around one man.
Adrian Peterson missed most of last season being suspended by the NFL with allegations circulating about possible child abuse inflicted on one of his children. Without their franchise player the Vikings struggled through a 7-9 season with rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater without his strongest weapon. It’s almost as if there is no rust on the 30 year old running back heading into this season. With 120 rushing attempts Peterson has 530 rushing yards so for through 6 games. 4.4 yards a pop for the former league MVP. All signs point to the recent success of the Vikings being attributed to the leagues best running back (Beast Mode borrowed the title last year) returning in rare form. The man shows no signs of slowing down and is still living up to his nickname “All Day.”
Peterson caused small controversy at the beginning of the season when he stated could have played in the NFL at the age of 18. At this rate it looks like he could play in the NFL at the age of 81 also.
