Big respect to Kings owner Vivek Ranadive touching the Stephon Clark situation. As an African-American male we don’t get the benefit of doubt in a lot of situations it is sad that when we get gunned down by police the first question is what could we have done better not to get in that situation? Why does our programming have to be like that? Even if he was doing something wrong the young man didn’t deserve to die that night, he should’ve been taken in custody to see the results of the “alleged” crimes that took place that night. Why did they wait five minutes to check on the young man? Ranadive could’ve turned the other cheek, but he addressed in a great way and that is why the NBA as a whole is in a better place than the NFL in my opinion they know the bloodline line of their league and for them to keep moving forward they must address situations like this one because it affects them no matter what way you look at it.
Check out the video:
This is no small thing from @SacramentoKings owner Vivek Randivé after the team’s game was disrupted by those protesting local police killing an unarmed man in his own grandmother’s backyard.
Listen to what he says, and compare that to what we’ve heard from owners in other sports pic.twitter.com/hzy203w1VR— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) March 23, 2018
